Man sentenced in armored guard shooting
A man was sentenced Friday to life in prison in the 2010 robbery and fatal shooting of an armored truck guard.
A judge sentenced Nathaniel Moss, 33, to life plus 20 years in prison in the death of Brinks messenger Alejandro Nodarse Arencibia.
Arencibia was delivering a bag of money on Oct. 1, 2010, to a Bank of America on Miramar Parkway when two men with guns came up to him. One of the men, whom prosecutors identified as Moss, shot Arencibia in the head, killing him. Investigators said the second man grabbed the bag of cash.
Moss pleaded guilty on Oct. 14 to robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, the use of a firearm in the commission of a robbery and causing death through use of a firearm.
Four other suspects -- Terrance Brown, Toriano Johnson, Daryl Davis and Hasam Williams -- have been arrested in connection with the incident. They were charged in a Dec. 1 indictment, prosecutors said. The trial is set for July.
